OpTic gaming started with a bunch of friends playing Call of Duty 3 after work. For about two years the team was owned by OpTic Kr3w, but when he stepped down he left it to Jay who then left it to Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez in 2006. After about 4 years Hector quit his day job and began to pursue his new career in eSports. He acquired four players who had the drive to compete and play in online tournaments. Later that year OpTic won their first lan tournament with a grand prize of 400,000 dollars.

From their Hector bought a team house and began to expand into the entertainment community. They started uploading gaming videos to youtube and racked in ad revenue to support the team. Over the next couple years they continued to compete in call of duty, and when the time came to expand to other eSports, Hector leaped into Halo, and CSGO. From their it was only a matter of time before it became a sensation.

In 2017 Hector moved the entire team to Texas because the owner of the Texas Rangers invested in the company to help expand into other titles. With 20 million dollar buy in for the overwatch league, it was a great time to look for investors in the company. Today optic gaming now has official office buildings centered around content creating, Business aspect, and plenty of web designers to keep all their online information accurate, and important to the success of the business.
