There is a legend called Santa Muerte or La Muerte which came from Mexico and other spanish speaking countries. She's a folk saint or a goddess of death that many mexicans worship or believe in. They believe that if you worship her you get a peaceful death. She is presented as a skeletal figure that is decorated in many different ways such as La Virgen de Guadalupe, or Virgin Mary in english, just with a skeleton face.La muerte can be very colorful or just one color it depends on how the person wants to decorates her.Some even make shrines for her. Many believe that if you ask her for something, you have to promise her something in return but if you break that promise she will take one of your loved ones away from you. She is known to grant all kinds of requests. In order for her to grant it you have to consistently pray to her, act with gratitude, and greet her with gifts such as fruit, flowers, different types of food, cigars, and even alcohol. She doesn't have an annual feast day, but in these last couple years her worshippers have been incorporating her in Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead. Many believe she is a saint that never discriminates anyone. Otheres believe she is denounced as satanic, mostly people the Vatican's Pontifilical Council for Culture, they think its a "blasphemy against religeon." Many of her devotees still practice Catholicism. When the church turns people away they turn to her for help.

The reason La Santa Muerte legend was choosen is because she is an interesting legend. There are many great aspects to her that many people don't see. The way she is presented is so beautiful, all the different colors, every little detail. Some of her shrines are very nice. She is a powerful goddess and if you don't keep your word with her, you will use one of your loved ones. Shes just an interesting topic to talk about, but can also be very creepy and scary. She is loyal to you if your loyal to her. She is a nonjudgmental goddess with moral powers that can help any one in need. La Muerete is very powerful and can grant any wish you want, anything you desire. Its like your wish is her command. Theres so much more to La muerte that people don't see because they don't believe in her. She is one legend that you do not want to cross.
