We chose to do our project on Mortal Kombat because Rigo saw Elizabeth checking the price for the new Mortal Kombat X game, which led to us discussing how we both like playing the game. Furthermore, if you take the time to learn the story lines then you get into it so much more because you know that the things happening in either the book, movies, or the games are happening for a particular reason and during game play you can happen to choose a rivalry.

In 1991 Ed Boon, John Tobias, John Vogel, and Dan Forden started the development for Mortal Kombat. The first Mortal Kombat game was released on October 8, 1992. The latest version of the game came out on April 14, 2015. There are now 21 games in the franchise and 2 movies. The video game franchise has inspired books, television series, music, and movies. You can say we both enjoy fighting virtually and also it brings out a different type of competitiveness that makes the game that much more fun because if you lose its not hard at all to play again just select a rematch, simple as that.
