Sessoji Temple

Leading to the temple is Nakamise, a street of shops with beautifully presented Japanese finger food. Souvenirs, including fans and cotton yukata, casual clothing similar to kimonos, are also available for purchase. Even this shopping street is several centuries old.Pass through two impressive gates before arriving at the main hall, a five-story pagoda, and the Asajusa Shrine. The distinctive shape of the outer gate, known as Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate), is often used as a symbol of Japan.

Tokyo Rainbow Bridge

Rainbow Bridge is named for the tri-colored lights on towers supporting its suspension cables. Solar-powered red, white and green lights are often complemented with blue lighting on supports below the bridge. A rainbow spectrum is created, with muted reflections in the waters of Tokyo Bay.The 2,618-foot (798-meter) suspension bridge is a major transportation route within Tokyo. The bridge has an expressway that connects Shibaura Pier to the Odaiba waterfront area in Minato. The expressway occupies an upper toll deck, while a lower deck contains a monorail and lanes for ordinary car and truck traffic, and pedestrians.

Tokyo Tower

Take one of the express elevators from the first floor of Foot Town to the Main Observatory at 476 feet (145 meters). This level features a stage for live music, a cafeteria offering aerial city views, and “look-down” windows to view the structure and ground immediately below. For an additional fee, you can take another elevator to the Special Observatory for even more impressive 360-degree views. This is a good place to get your bearings before exploring the rest of the city.
